Our staff is made up of highly trained, experienced Audiologists. All Audiologists are licensed professionals and all maintain more than the required number of CEUs. Our goal is to provide you the best possible hearing care, based upon your individual needs. We provide a comprehensive array of services related to prevention, evaluation, and rehabilitation of hearing impairment.
Eric Sandler, Sc.D.
Dr. Eric Sandler, Director of Audiological services at The Hearing Center, graduated from Rutgers College in 2002. He graduated from Montclair State University in 2007 with a Doctorate of Science in Audiology. He is a licensed Audiologist (#722) and Hearing Aid Dispenser (#1082) in the state of New Jersey. Dr. Sandler has presented his doctoral research on patient satisfaction and perceived value of hearing aids. He has worked in the private practice setting since 2007. Dr. Sandler has been a co-owner of The Hearing Center since 2010. Dr. Sandler is a member of the American Academy of Audiology, New Jersey Academy of Audiology, and the New Jersey Speech and Hearing Association. Dr. Sandler was selected in 2016 and 2017 as one of NJFamily.com top doctors for children. Dr. Sandler is co-director of The Hearing Center’s student mentoring program supervising doctoral level students in audiology. Dr. Sandler is an adjunct professor at Montclair State University in the Audiology department. Dr. Sandler enjoys working closely with patients and their physicians to manage complex audiological cases. He also enjoys working with cochlear implants as part of the The Hearing Center’s cochlear implant program. He also has experience presenting to the community on various topics related to hearing loss. He is the third generation in his family in this field. He lives locally with his wife and 3 children. He is an avid photographer and sports fan.
Judith Sandler, Au.D.
Judith Sandler, AuD., received her Doctorate in Audiology from Arizona School of Health Sciences in 2005. She co-founded The Hearing Center in 1986. Previous to that she was the Audiologist at Monmouth Medical Center in Long Branch where she participated with the Cleft Palate Unit and the ENT Clinic. Dr. Sandler was also involved with starting the audiologic monitoring of all babies from the hospital’s Neonate Intensive Care unit. After working at the hospital she was the Audiologist at Kean University, where she did routine testing along with consulting to their Campus School for children with multiple disabilities. She also supervised many of the graduate audiology students. Dr. Sandler has also consulted with several Otolaryngolists throughout the state. She is also a member of the American Academy of Audiology and the American speech-language and hearing association.
Meredith Rothenberg, Au.D.
Meredith Rothenberg, Au. D. Received her Doctorate in Audiology from Arizona School of Health Sciences in 2005. She cofounded The Hearing Center in 1986. Previous to that, she worked at the Kean University Audiology Clinic where she met Dr. J. Sandler. Dr. Rothenberg also consulted with many Otolaryngologists throughout the state. She is also a member of the American Academy of Audiology
Anne Michele Puglisi, Au.D.
Dr. Anne Michele Puglisi, pediatric specialist and aural-rehabilitation programming received her Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) degree in 2005 from The School of Audiology at Salus University. She has a Master of Science degree in Audiology from Gallaudet University and a Bachelor of Science degree in Deaf Education from The College of New Jersey. She spent several years practicing at JFK hospital and private practice settings where she honed her diagnostic and dispensing skills. Dr. Puglisi has a special interest in aural rehabilitation; she has presented on the topic and has organized and taught related seminars. She has been an adjunct professor for Seton Hall University and a teaching assistant for Gallaudet University, where she learned to sign. She holds New Jersey Licenses for both Audiology and Hearing Aid Dispensing. Dr. Puglisi is a member the American Academy of Audiology and the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association.
Sarah A. Elias, Au.D.
Sarah A. Elias, Au.D. recently graduated with her Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) degree in 2016 from the Long Island Doctor of Audiology Consortium of St. John’s, Adelphi and Hofstra Universities. Sarah has extensive training in treating patients, both pediatric and adult, in private practice and hospital settings. Previously, she completed clinical externships at Hackensack University Medical Center, Hackensack Audiology and Hearing Aid Associates, Staten Island University Hospital and Staten Island Hearing and Balance Center. Sarah earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders with a minor in Psychology from Long Island University. In 2014, Sarah received the Joan Fox Award from the Long Island Speech-Language-Hearing Association (LISHA) in recognition of outstanding scholarship and service to the speech, language and hearing field. She was also selected in 2017 as one of New Jersey Family Magazine’s top doctors for children. In her free time, Sarah enjoys spending time with her family and friends, volunteering at her church, traveling and enjoying a good laugh.
Stefanie Perle, Au.D.
Dr. Stefanie Perle earned her Doctor of Audiology (Au.D.) degree in 2004 from The George Osborne School of Audiology at Salus University in Elkins Park, Pennsylvania. She has a Masters of Science Degree in Audiology from Hunter College and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications Disorders and Sciences from The State University of New York at Buffalo. She began her career at JFK Johnson Rehabilitation Institute and Saint Peter’s University Hospital where she enhanced her clinical skills for pediatric through adult populations. After starting a family, Dr. Perle transitioned to private practice settings. One of Dr. Perle’s special interests are implantable technology, including cochlear implants and the Bone Anchored Hearing Apparatus (BAHA). Dr. Perle was one of the first audiologists in Monmouth County who was identifying cochlear implant candidates and programming cochlear implants. In addition, she specializes in the diagnosis and management of auditory processing disorders in children and adults. Dr. Perle has been invited to collaborate with several local public and private schools to serve this population of students. She was selected in 2016 and 2017 as one of New Jersey Family Magazine’s top doctors for children. Dr. Perle holds New Jersey Licenses for both Audiology and Hearing Aid Dispensing. She is a member the American Academy of Audiology and the American Speech-Language and Hearing Association. Outside of her office, she enjoys spending time with her husband and three children.
Alexis Conte, Au.D.
Dr. Alexis Conte graduated from Salus University in 2017 with her Doctorate in Audiology (Au.D.). Dr. Conte may be familiar to our patients as she spent a semester at The Hearing Center on a clinical rotation. She has had extensive training in various audiologic settings and placements. Dr. Conte earned her Bachelors of Science degree from East Stroudsburg University of Pennsylvania in Speech Language Pathology with a minor in gerontology. In 2015, Dr. Conte competed in a grand rounds competition and received first place for her presentation on Hybrid cochlear implants. Dr. Conte has expanded our diagnostic services by bring auditory processing evaluations to our Clark and Highland Park locations. In her free time, Dr. Conte enjoys going to the gym, reading fiction, and spending time with her friends, family and dog, Jada.
Samantha Greenfield, Au.D.
Dr. Samantha Greenfield graduated in 2018 from Montclair State University with her Doctorate in Audiology (Au.D). She has extensive training in diagnostic testing and treatment of hearing disorders in adult and pediatric populations. She spent a semester as a clinical intern at The Hearing Center, and completed her fourth-year clinical residency at Hackensack University Medical Center and Hackensack Audiology and Hearing Aid Associates. Dr. Greenfield earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from Muhlenberg College in Psychology with a minor in Public Health. In 2016, she was accepted into the Honor Society for Graduate and Professional School students for academic excellence and leadership. In her free time she enjoys hiking, reading, and spending time with her friends and family.
Deana Kalley, Office Manager
Deana joined our Manalapan office staff in 2017. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management from Canisius College. Mrs. Kalley has worked in an administrative capacity for various firms within the biotechnology, manufacturing, and financial services industries. Her hands-on, proactive work approach positively contribute to a streamlined and patient-focused operation. Deana and her husband are residents of Hazlet Township and enjoy spending time with their two children.
Val Henningsen, Office Manager
Val Henningsen has been an intricate part of The Hearing Center since 2004 as Office Manager, Administrative Assistant and Patient Coordinator. She completed a course of study at Lyons Institute of Medical Technology, Union College and Alpha Train computer school. Val has many years experience in physicians’ private practice, National Health Laboratories, Assisted Living, the Nursing Home environment and Muhlenberg Regional Medical Center’s Medical Education. Her compassion and empathy are always demonstrated in her interaction with patients.
